After a fabulously full semester, I am ready to take a deep breath. Refresh. Breath. Christmas is a small break in the year that allows me to refocus my attention away from work and fully onto the people I love.

During my last weekend in Madrid, my host mom and I went Christmas shopping. (What’s better than shopping to get past the pre-flight jitters?) I always find shopping during the Christmas season a little overwhelming, however, we both had things we needed and fear of Christmas commercialization would not deter us from our personal goals. Starving, yet successful, we returned home a few hours later to put away our finds and enjoy bowls of paella.

One of my favorite finds from that day are these boot-cut, crimson, velvet pants. Boot-cut pants are every girls “go-to” in Madrid, and paired with a the right top and accessories, they’re just fun. This Christmas I’m inspired by soft textures, velvets, fur details (did you see the loafers?), and delicate gold touches.

Have you decided what you’ll wear this Christmas? Let me know below.

I wish you the sweetest of Christmases.
