Have you ever wondered how to tie a halter scarf? Me too! Here’s what I learned…

I have been robbing my mother of her clothes since the day I was born.

It was about time I expanded to her accessories.

This is how the story goes:

As I casually perused my mother’s closet, I was attracted by an unexpected burst of color from amongst the neutral blouses. Was it a pink blouse? No. That would be uncharacteristic of my mother’s chic, Parisian style. Getting closer, I realized it was a beautiful, silk scarf delicately draped across a hanger.

Lovely.

After carefully listening for approaching footsteps, I gently grabbed the hanger and bolted.

Scarves are an accessory that many fashionistas will describe as their bread-and-butter. They’re classy. Versatile. Hello! Just Google Audrey Hepburn with a head scarf. Enough said.

Scarves can be tied in your hair, draped around your shoulders, wrapped around your head, looped through your purse handles, or even tied as a top. To tie as top, make sure you have a scarf that is sized about 35×35 inches (it varies slightly depending on your size). You can tie the scarf many different ways, but here are my favorite tutorials.

I couldn’t resist tying this scarf as a halter and pairing it with a few of my favorite gold accessories.

I anticipate wearing this look to events that are “dressed-up casual.” This will will include open houses, evening parties, and family dinners. It’s total style, very fun, and 100% chic.

What are a few of your favorite summer accessories right now?
