March is deceptive.

In Virginia, it is 30 degrees in the morning, yet full sun and 70 by noon. I need my outfit to be warm (but not too warm) but also look fresh for spring!

Here’s is how I styled my first week of March, and my tips for making your outfit compatible for early spring!

Monday

White turtlenecks are a must have! They are warm, but fresh and bright for spring!

Tuesday

Blazers work all year round, but are perfect for spring. I’ll wear it in the morning, tuck it in my backpack in the afternoon, and wrap it around my shoulders as I study in the library!

Wednesday

Stripes are great for their versatility. Under blazers, sweaters, as is– they’re practical and *ah* very French.

Thursday

When you wear flats, you’re essentially telling nature that you’re done with snow and you’re moving on to bigger, better things (aka sun)!
Even by adding flats with a simple sweater you can begin transitioning your wardrobe to spring.

Friday

When in doubt: florals. Even if they’re printed on a scarf wrapped against the chilly Spring wind, they add a color pop and a nod to the changing season.
(PS. Did you spot my floral headscarf earlier?)

If you’ve been in touch with the fashion world lately, you know that Paris Fashion Week just ended. While I would kill to wear almost anything showcased– especially Celine!– practicality and reality cause me to be a wee bit smarter in my fashion choices.
